Our Client, an American company, approached us to carry out a commercial due diligence investigation of a small UK company owned by a Chinese group.
Our preliminary discussions with our Client revealed that for good and sound commercial reasons they wished to close the UK company following its acquisition but were very concerned at the extent and uncertainty of the liabilities they might incur.

On our advice our Client reopened its discussions on the proposed deal with the Chinese owners who were persuaded to deal with the closure of its UK operation themselves , thereby enabling our Client to achieve its objective for a fixed sum within its budget without incurring any actual or potential liabilities---or any fees!
